common dated raw $20 Liberties for $1050?

Just arrived back from the coin shop and saw a 1904 $20 Liberty for $1050. Took a look and both sides look quite good, no real contact marks, few small marks on the back. I have a pcgs graded $20 lib in 63 and the lusted is very similar.

Never brought a raw coin so just wondering if this was a decent deal, keep in mind that I am based in Asia.

With the price of gold over $950, $1050 seems quite reasonable for something in good condition from 1904.

What do you guys think?

Cheers for any helpful input!

YES but bring a 10 X LOUP and really look them over prior.

Study "altered coins" via internet - especially  WIZZED coins.

best wishes,

There's a fair chance it's been altered, but for that price who cares. You done fine I say.
I used up a free submission I had at PCGS on a raw $20 liberty that was plainly worn, it came back VF35.

I'll have to check out if it has been altered. It was the only american gold peice he had in the shop.

Cheers....
